Music from the 70s, 80s, & up! The bands performing at the Algonquin Founders' Days have got everyone's musical tastes covered!




Heading out to the Algonquin Founders' Days this weekend? Here is a quick look at the bands scheduled to play throughout the weekend.

Remember, this year's Founders' Days activities are being held at Algonquin Lakes Park, near Algonquin Lakes School, 1401 Compton Ln., Algonquin, as the Western Bypass construction has forced the temporary closure of Towne Park.

Gate & Time Admission Prices:

Thur., July 25: No admission fees!
Fri., July 26: 5 p.m. $4 Adults, $2 Children 4-12
Sat., July 27: 1 p.m. $4 Adults, $2 Children 4-12
Sun., July 28: Noon $2 Adults, $1 Children 4-12

Friday, July 26

Time: 6:15 to 10: 15 p.m.

Two headlining acts will rotate sets for four continuous hours of music.

Mike and Joe:
A regional cover band that plays primarily alternative and modern rock. The bulk of the set list includes music from the '90s through today, but there are are tunes from the 70's and 80 that are included from time to time.

Modern Day Romeos
Modern Day Romeos has remained the quintessential party band. Based out of Chicago's Suburbs, its six members create a fun and high-energy. MDR continues to play before impressive crowds and remains a top drawing show due to its massive online presence.


Saturday, July 27


7th Heaven
Time: 2 to 4 p.m.

7th heaven is known for the famous "30 Songs in 30 Minutes" medley of songs from the 70's and 80's. The band an entertainment staple for 28 years in the Chicago area, playing over 250 shows a year, with an average of 100 outdoor events.

Smokin' Guns

Time: 5 to 7 p.m.

Smokin Gunz's musical style and background is derived from straight forward rock-n-roll, combined with hard driving, country music styles, backed by heart felt harmony vocal arrangements, with some real foot-tapping dance tunes to provide musical entertainment for all types of audiences regardless of their musical preferences.

The Lounge Puppets

Time: 8:15 to 10:15 p.m.

The Lounge Puppets Tribute to 80s hair bands is incredible
heart pumping, fist-thrusting, scream out loud, head banging trip back through time! Re-creating the craziest "Up all night" party that's guaranteed to 'Kick-start Your Heart"!
