Mary Martin is celebrating her daughter’s engagement in a big way. She put her congratulations on a sign on Algonquin Road that reads “She said yes.” Martin works at the Algonquin Heating & Air Conditioning, 109 E. Algonquin Road, and put up the sign a few weeks ago. Her daughter, Amy, got engaged to Adam Dierzen in November. Dierzen rented the Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago and hired a cellist and violinist when he popped the question. The wedding planning is underway for the September nuptials.

The front-window mannequin at one area bridal shop will soon have a whole new look. Following the reveal of Kate Middleton’s dress this morning, Kathryn Trocki, of Kathryn’s Bridal in McHenry, said she planned to change her mannequin into a more classic, long-sleeved gown. “It’s been strapless for so long,” Trocki said. “It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
