This is the first Kane County operation to happen during the big game.
Super Bowl Sunday is a celebration of football, a popular day to gather and party with family and friends. It also is a day that involves an increase in alcohol-related driving fatalities, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This Super Bowl Sunday, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office will collaborate with Kane County police departments as part of an ongoing effort to make the county’s roads the safest in Illinois. The eighth ‘No Refusal’ operation conducted in Kane County will be the first on Super Bowl Sunday. Joey Florio, co-owner of The Tracks in Cary, says Bears' fans will be out to root against the Packers during this Sunday's Superbowl.
Area bar owner Joey Floria says many Bear fans will be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday--even if their favorite team isn't in it. Florio -- a bartender and co-owner of The Tracks, 108 W. Main St. in Cary -- said a lot of Bear fans will be tuning in to root against the Packers. He said they want the Pittsburgh Steelers to trounce Green Bay during Sunday's game, which begins at 5:30 p.m. Business-wise, that’s almost as good as having the Bears playing in the Super Bowl, Florio said.
