Sheriff Identifies Man Who Committed Suicide in Courthouse Parking Lot

Police identify 52-year-old John Marcus Lundberg of Yorkville as the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office identified the man who publicly committed suicide at the Kendall County Courthouse last week as 52-year-old John Marcus Lundberg of Yorkville. A motive for the public display though has yet to be determined, said Deputy Craig French, spokesman for the Sheriff's office. "That's something that we're still looking into," he said Monday afternoon. Video surveillance from the Kendall County Courthouse showed Lundberg putting a shotgun to his head and firing a single shot Friday afternoon at approximately 1:46 p.m. Lundberg, who was by himself at the time, parked his car on the far west side of the parking lot, according to police. Patch Flash: Suburban College Professor Charged on Child Pornography, Weapons Possession

  Donald Ratcliff, a Wheaton college professor who teaches an online course in children's spirituality, faces charges of possession of child pornography, weapons and ammunition, and is scheduled for a bond hearing Thursday, March 8. Ratcliff, 60, was charged with two counts of aggravated possession of child pornography, two counts of possession of a firearm without a FOID card and one count of possession of ammunition without a FOID card.  Evanston Police arrested a Chicago man for allegedly raping a 19-year-old Evanston woman after she got off the bus and was walking home in the afternoon. According to police, the woman got off the bus at Emerson and Dodge avenues shortly before 2 p.m., Monday, and was walking toward home.
