Lily Garden, While Cheap, Fails to Impress

Lily Garden has eye-popping and fun decor, but our restaurant reviewer found the food to be less appealing.

For the ultimate in Chinese kitsch, turn into a nondescript strip mall on West Algonquin Road and step into Lily Garden Restaurant. Lily Garden, 2106 Algonquin Road, at the southern edge of Lake in the Hills, projects a kind of Chinese overload, in a strictly visual — not gustatory — sense. That's too bad because the gaudy décor, which was fun to look at, did not compensate for the subpar food quality.
