Lake in the Hills Approves New Gas Station for Algonquin Road
The Grove Mart will be located on Algonquin Road across from Wentworth Drive in Lake in the Hills.
Lake in the Hills village officials approved plans for a new gasoline station, convenience store and car wash for the north side of Algonquin Road on the village's west side. "The Grove Mart" will be constructed on the Algonquin Road across from Wentworth Drive on a vacant parcel of land located between Dave's Pumpkin Farm and CVS Pharmacy, just east of Lakewood Road. The village board on Thursday approved Glogovsky Oil Co.'s request for a conditional use permit allowing the gasoline station and car wash. The Grove Mart project, part of Par Development's Lake Pointe Center Phase II, includes a 4,000-square-foot convenience store, Shell gasoline station with 16 pumps and a 4,650-square-foot car wash, said Dan Olson, community development …

I'm happy to be "getting back" a Shell/Car Wash like the one that was torn down on Randall and Algonquin Roads, along with the stunning tree that provided a beautiful refuge for birds. I'm not sure what part of the new site pleases me the most, but I sure hope that a gorgeous tree is part of that site.
