Garbage pick-up in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills will be affected by the New Year's holiday. In both villages, there will be no garbage pick-up on Tuesday. The pick-up will be delayed by one day with Friday pick-up collected on Saturday. Metra will be offering a special holiday schedule on Monday, Dec. 31. The Sunday/holiday schedule will be in effect on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
