Commission Orders Suspension, Fines for Liquor Violations

Representatives from Algonquin Food & Liquor, Trader Joe's and Riverview Restaurant all appeared before the Algonquin Liquor Control Commission Tuesday night.

The Algonquin Liquor Control Commission ordered a 15-day liquor license suspension Tuesday for an Algonquin liquor store that sold alcohol to a minor in recent months.   This is the third liquor violation for Algonquin Food & Liquor, 1117 South Main St. in Algonquin, with the businesses first offense occurring in 2008 and its second offense occurring this past May.  Representatives from two other businesses — Trader Joe's, 800 South Randall Road in Algonquin, and Riverview Restaurant, 1320 S. Main St. in Algonquin — also appeared before the liquor control commission Tuesday.  All of the businesses were cited for selling alcohol to minors following July compliance checks conducted by the Algonquin Police Department. Three Algonquin Businesses to Appear Before Liquor Commission

A public hearing will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Algonquin Village Hall, 5200 Harnish Drive.

Complaints against three Algonquin businesses will be heard by the village’s Liquor Control Commission tonight. The businesses cited for liquor violations are: The liquor hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Village Hall, 2200 Harnish Drive in Algonquin, according to village of Algonquin documents.  This is the second time Algonquin Food and Liquor has been cited for a liquor violation in recent months. The business appeared before the commission in June for its second liquor offense.  Meijer Gas Station, 490 South Randall Road, and Butera Market, 1400 E.
