Hey! Remember Your Property Tax Bill Is Due Monday!

The first installment of your Kane County property tax bill is due June 4. Here are a few ways you can pay it.

You're just done with a delightful, three-day Memorial Day weekend, you're trying to get back into the work routine, you've got end-of-the-month stuff on your mind and you haven't turned the calendar over to June yet, where the first thing you'll see marked is ... PROPERTY TAX BILL DUE! Yeesh. Yes, it's that delightful time of year in which you drive over to the Kane County Government Center to drop off a check to cover the first installment of your property-tax bill. The first installment is due Monday, June 4. For a lot of folks, this installment was a shock—and not just because the due date is the first day of June. The time before last my check was lost by the check clearing company the county hires to process payments. After 22 days passed I called and asked why my check had not cleared and they reported what had happened and that it was lost. Thankfully they did not charge a late penalty fee.
