Funky Munky in LITH Seeks Votes in Holiday Display Contest

The Randall Road store is hoping to win the Minnetonka Holiday Display Contest.

Funky Munky owner Jody Galle is asking area residents to cast their vote for her store in the Minnetonka Holiday Display Contest. Minnetonka -- a company that sells moccasins and other footwear -- is taking votes now through Dec. 7 on its contest page for the store with the best holiday display. You can choose your favorite holiday display by commenting on the Minnetonka contest page. Funky Munky, which is located at 323 North Randall Road in LITH, is listed as display #18 on the contest page. The top three stores with the most comments will move onto the final voting round, which will run from Dec. 10 through Dec. 14. 'Funky' Stores Mix Up: Funky Munky Not Closing

The owner of Funky Munky in Lake in the Hills told Patch some customers have come in inquiring about their closing when the store has no plans to close its doors. The store has been mistaken for Funky Things.

Funky Munky owner Jodi Galle was surprised when in recent weeks customers started inquiring about her store's closing.  Galle said the store, which has been in the same location at 323 N. Randall Road in Lake in the Hills for the past nine years, has no plans to close or move its business elsewhere.  After 10 to 20 people inquired about the closing, Galle realized where the confusion might lie when she found an article on Patch.com about Funky Things in Algonquin.  The article was about Funky Things’ announcement from earlier this month that it would close its physical store to begin selling its merchandise on eBay.  Galle believes customers have confused the news over Funky Things with Funky Munky.
