Flood Watch in Effect; Thunderstorms Tonight; Snow Tomorrow
When it comes to the weather, Algonquin and Lake in the Hills should expect a little bit of everything over the next 24 hours.
Mother Nature plans to throw everything our way over the next 24 hours. Tuesday started off as a warm day, with temperatures reaching into the 60s in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills, and switched over to heavy rainfall in the afternoon. A flood watch was issued Tuesday for McHenry County and much of the surrounding counties and will remain in effect through 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. More than two inches of rain could fall in some areas through Wednesday morning. The rainfall comes when much of ground remains frozen.
