Four Escape Injury in Lake Killarney House Fire

Firefighters were called to a house fire at 6401 Shannon Drive in Lake Killarney on Monday morning.

Four people escaped harm on Monday morning when their house on Shannon Drive in Lake Killarney caught on fire. The Cary Fire Protection District was called at 11:53 a.m. to the home at 6401 Shannon Drive. The street is located in the Lake Killarney subdivision situated between Crystal Lake and Cary. Upon arriving a the scene, responders found the upstairs bedroom engulfed in flames. Firefighters extiguished the blaze within 15 minutes, according to Cary Lt. Michael D. Douglass. The owner of the house, Robert Schumacher, was not home at the time, Douglass said. However, four people were inside when the fire started, and all managed to escape the house safely before fire officials arrived, Douglass stated in a release. There were no injuries…

Investigators on Scene of Fox Valley Systems Fire in Cary

Investigators on Thursday were trying to determine the cause of Wednesday's explosions and blaze that sent three workers to hospital burn units.

  Investigators from the Cary Fire Protection District, OSHA and Illinois State Fire Marshals were at Fox Valley Systems on Thursday trying to determine what caused two explosions and the subsequent fire on Wednesday. Three workers were injured during the blasts, officials said. Two of the injured were transported shortly after the first explosion, which occured at 1:15 p.m. March 6, to Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington for treatment. Information was not available regarding the location of the third injured worker. Since that time, two of the injured were transferred to the burn unit at Loyola Hospital and the third was sent to the St. Anthony Hospital Burn Unit in Rockford, according to Cary Fire Lt. Cary Home Uninhabitable after Monday Morning Fire

The fire broke out at about 8:30 a.m. Dec. 3, in a house at 205 Machelle Drive, located in the unincorporated area east of the Cary village boundaries.

A two-story Cary home was rendered uninhabitable after a fire broke out in the family room at about 8:23 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3. The Cary Fire Protection District was dispatched to the report of a house fire at 205 Machelle Drive. The house is located at the corner of Machelle Drive and Meadow Lane in a subdivision located north of Three Oaks Road. The subdivision is about one mile east of Newbold Road. Firefighters, uncertain as to whether the house was occupied, immediately conducted an interior search, according to Lt. Michael D. Douglass, public information officer for the Cary Fire Protection District. "After confirming nobody was in the house, the firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arrivng on the scene," …
