Roskam Declines Invitation to Candidate Forum Hosted by Patch, League of Women Voters

Rep. Peter Roskam is unable to attend Patch, League of Women Voters candidate forum due to a prior commitment.

Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) on Friday notified the League of Women Voters (LWV) of the Palatine Area he will not be able to attend an Oct. 11 candidate forum in Palatine because of a previous commitment. Last month, Patch partnered with the LWV to invite candidates in the Illinois 6th Congressional District race to a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at Palatine Village Hall. The invitation was the group's second attempt to host such a debate, after Rep. Roskam was unable to attend the Oct. 4 event. Candidate Leslie Coolidge (D-Barrington) previously accepted the Oct. 4 and Oct. 11 invitations. Patch, League of Women Voters Invite Roskam, Coolidge to Candidate Forum

Patch has partnered with the Palatine-area League of Women Voters to host a candidate forum for the 6th Congressional District race on Thursday, Oct. 11 in Palatine.

Patch has partnered with the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area to invite candidates in the Illinois 6th Congressional District race to a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at Palatine Village Hall. The invitation is the group's second attempt to host such a debate, after Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) was unable to attend the Oct. 4 event. Candidate Leslie Coolidge (D-Barrington) previously accepted the Oct. 4 invitation and has accepted the Oct. 11 invitation. The Roskam for Congress campaign staff indicated the original date was during the time the House Majority Leader asked representatives to serve in Washington DC. Candidates Ready to Square Off at Jan. 23 LWV Kane Forum

Voters can meet the candidates running for countywide offices at a forum hosted by the League of Women Voters.

Republican and Democratic candidates in contested primary races for Kane County Board chairman, Kane County circuit clerk, Kane County auditor and Kane County coroner are invited to share their views with voters at a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Mon., Jan. 23 at the Norris Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles.  Hosted by the League of Women Voters of Central Kane County, those candidates invited include: Kane County Board Chairman Kane County Circuit Clerk Kane County Coroner Kane County Auditor

School Board Candidates Discuss Budget Cuts, Classroom Sizes

Four of the six candidates seeking election to the District 300 School Board attended a forum last week presented by employee union groups.

School board candidates discussed budget cuts, staffing and classroom sizes at a District 300 school board candidate forum March 15 at Dundee-Crown High School. Four of the six candidates seeking seats on the school board answered questions from Dundee-Crown students and moderator Bruce Taylor, a social studies teacher and union school representative at Dundee-Crown. The forum was presented by the three employee unions associated with District 300: the teachers’ union, LEAD-300; the secretaries and custodians’ union, DESPA; and the paraprofessionals’ union, DESA.
