District 300 will have a snow day Friday. District 300 Superintendent Michael Bregy sent out the following message to district famililes Thursday evening: "Good evening. This is Dr. Michael Bregy, Superintendent of School District 300, calling with an important message. Due to the inclement weather, District 300 schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 22. Each principal will send a separate message before 12 noon tomorrow telling parents whether or not tomorrow’s after-school practices, performances, and competitions will be held as planned. Area school districts are cancelling after-school activities and some businesses are closing early as heavy snow blankets McHenry County this afternoon. A winter storm warning is in effect for McHenry County through midnight tonight. Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are likely with higher amounts possible in isolated areas.
