No Valid Driver's License/Accident Police arrested a 24-year-old Crystal Lake man at 10:03 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving without a valid driver's license, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at Virginia and Rakow roads. The man later was released on bond. Fraud Police responded to Thornton's, 2265 W. Algonquin Road, at 2:37 p.m. Saturday for a fraud report. Police learned a credit card was used for an unlawful transaction. The report was being investigated by a Lake in the Hills police officer. ARRESTS: The Lake in the Hills Police Department made the following arrests between Wednesday and Sunday. Driving While License Suspended A 20-year-old man from Fargo, N.D., was pulled over near Oakleaf and Randall roads about 12:37 a.m. Sunday. The man, who is not being named because charges have not been filed on McHenry County Court's public access website, was arrested on a charge of driving while license was suspended and cited with a headlight violation. He later was released on bond. Driving Under the Influence A 19-year-old Downers Grove man was pulled over in the 200 block of Randall Road about 2:23 a.m. Sunday. Lake in the Hills Police also arrested three teens on drug charges over the past several days and are investigating a residential burglary.
Teens Arrested on Drug Charges Two area teens were arrested at Taco Bell, 231 N. Randall Road, Wednesday on drug charges, according to the Lake in the Hills Police Department’s daily bulletin. A 17-year-old Gilberts boy and a 17-year-old Huntley boy both face charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana – less than 2.5 grams and a local charge of possession of tobacco by a minor. Police arrested the teens around 5:53 p.m. Thursday and later released them to their parents. Identity Theft Reported A resident living in the 300 block of Council Trail called police around 1:07 p.m. on Wednesday to reported that their credit card had been used without their consent. Police responded to several reports of vehicle break-ins that apparently occurred overnight Saturday in Lake in the Hills. In total, nine different reports were taken of vehicle break-ins and burglaries, according to the Lake in the Hills Police Department’s daily bulletin (see the attached PDF to the right of this story). Anyone with tips on crimes committed in Lake in the Hills can call the police department's non-emergency number at (847) 658-5676 or submit a tip online. For emergency situations, call 9-1-1. Lake in the Hills Police Department reports from Wednesday.
Violation of Protection Order Police received a call from a complainant in the 300 block of Wander Way around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday. The complainant told police that an ex-boyfriend had violated an order of protection. Police found the report to be unfounded, according to the Lake in the Hills Police Department's daily bulletin. Burglary on Pyott Road Police responded to a home on the 300 block of Pyott Road around 7:52 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a burglary. According to the daily bulletin, $100 was taken from the home. The burglary report was turned over the Lake in the Hills Police Department’s investigations unit.

Police responded to the 2900 block Brisbane Drive to make the arrests Monday morning in connection with a residential burglary.
A 30-year-old Carpentersville man and four Carpentersville teens faces charges for a home burglary in LITH that occurred Monday morning. The Lake in the Hills Police Department was called to a home in the 2900 block of Brisbane Drive around 10:53 a.m. Monday, according to a Lake in the Hills Police Department's daily bulletin. No details were immediately available into the burglary from LITH Police. Luis Rosado, the Carpentersville man, appeared in McHenry County Court Tuesday where he was formerly charged with residential burglary, knowingly damaging property and criminal trespassing to a home for his alleged connection to the burglary. What is going on? There have been several home and car burglaries in the past few months and this concerns me very much. I'm going to invest in outdoor cameras for my residence. Looking at the map of where they occurred, a simple street corner camera would have caught the perpetrators.   more ›
