The ninth annual Allie & Friends Golf Classic will be held at the Boulder Ridge Country Club on May 6.
National Football League Hall of Famer Dan Hampton and former Chicago Bear Glen Kozlowski will join former Indianapolis Colt Ryan Diem at the Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake in the Hills on May 6 to help support the Allie & Friends Golf Classic. The golf tournament, now in its 9th year, has raised nearly $1 million for the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation over the past eight years. Allie & Friends was founded in 2005 by Scott and Kristin Jewson after they learned Allie, the 2-year-old daughter of friends Brian and Keri Neff, had been diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma. Allie died in 2006. "Allie & Friends continues on in her memory and helps us continue to fight for all the other children and families living with cancer…

The changes will be made to lots in the southern portion of The Lake of Boulder Ridge development along Coyote Lakes Circle at the northwest corner of Algonquin and Frank roads. "Sales have been slow for the duplex units and the developer has received indications from potential residents of the desire for more single-family detached options," according to village documents. In a rare vote on June 7, 280 residents living within the Boulder Ridge community voted for five new members to take over the property association's board of directors.
After unrest over higher assessment costs in the affluent Boulder Ridge community, residents voted out the former property association board during a meeting last week. Residents living in three subdivisions within Boulder Ridge — which is made up of 533 homeowners — voted in person and by proxy during a meeting held at the Boulder Ridge Country Club June 7. In total, 280 voted for five new members to take over the board and 75 voted for the former board members to stay in their seats, said Patrick Loveless, the new president of the Boulder Ridge POA board of directors. “We were just neighbors that saw things differently,” Loveless said. “We live in a great community—I feel honored and privalaged to live here. I just hope we (the new board…

One area real estate agent says home buyers are more interested in lower-priced homes in Lake in the Hills and are typically first-time buyers.
One Lake in the Hills neighborhood continues to feel the sting from a weary economy as home prices remain on the downfall. In November, Lake in the Hills Patch looked at housing sales in Lake in the Hills’ upscale Boulder Ridge development, located between Miller and Algonquin roads and east of Frank Road. Five months later, real estate agents are reporting that houses in the gated, golf-course neighborhood are finally selling. Unfortunately, for the sellers, the prices have plummeted far below the original purchase price. Buyers, however, are reaping the benefits of the low sale prices and short sales in the development. Sellers, who've invested thousands of dollars in upgrades, are losing as much as $100,000 to $200,000 in some cases, …

This week's "On The Market" column features a 9,000-square foot home at 510 Mason Lane, which is also the most expensive home currently for sale in LITH.
We here at the LITH Patch know $1 million homes aren't for everyone. But that doesn't mean it's not fun to look. This week's On the Market featured home is reportedly the most expensive home currently for sale in LITH. It sits on a gorgeously landscaped 1/2-acre lot at 510 Mason Lane in the Boulder Ridge subdivision. It's 9,000 square feet of endless amenities, 14 total rooms, seven fire places and it is going for $1.299 million. This home has been on the market since mid-2007 when the asking price for the house was $3.89 million, said Chris Jacobs, real estate agent for The Pinnacle Group in Barrington. At that time, another agent was handling the sale. The price has since been reduced twice to try and attract buyers. While Jacobs says …

Another ignorant person? Please. It's called living within your means. People who can't afford to live in miniature mansions had no business buying them in the first place. Now their shocked they can't sell them or pay for them. Give me a break. Wake up people, this isn't the willy-nilly go big or go home 90's. Don't put on credit what you can't afford, period.   more ›
