An 83-year-old Spring Grove woman died at Centegra Hospital early Friday after she slipped and the vehicle she had been driving rolled backward, causing her injury, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release. The paramedics were already on scene at June A. Severs' home, at 1419 Main St. in Spring Grove around 2 a.m. for a medical assist for her husband when the accident happened. Paramedics were preparing Severs' husband for transport when Severs — who was planning to follow her husband's ambulance to the hospital — backed out of her garage and then proceeded to get out of 2010 Dodge van. A rollover accident at the busy intersection slowed traffic Monday evening.
Three people were sent to the hospital in stable condition following a crash at Algonquin and Randall roads about 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Daily Herald. The accident happened when a Mercedes-Benz collided with a Saturn sports utility vehicle at the busy intersection, causing the SUV to roll over, according to witnesses from the scene. Help Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Patch reach 1,300 followers Lake in the Hills Police responded to a one-vehicle accident at the Woods Creek Apartments, near Village Creek Drive and Acorn Lane, Friday afternoon. It appeared the vehicle ran into a power box in the yard by the apartments. Emergency personnel and police were on the scene around 3:30 p.m. The vehicle was towed from the location. A distracted driver veered off Route 14 early Sunday morning and crashed into the Breakers Restaurant, leaving a hole in the wall of the kitchen, the Northwest Herald reports. Ryan Wetham, 29, of Crystal Lake, was issued two traffic citations in connection with the accident that happened just after 7 a.m., according to the Northwest Herald reports. No one was in the restaurant at the time, the Herald reports.

A woman is in critical condition after McHenry County Sheriff's Deputies are saying her left the roadway Monday night and struck several trees. According to the Sheriff's Office, Holly M. Pfeil, 41, of Lake in the Hills was driving a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria at 6:40 p.m. Monday night when her vehicle, traveling westbound, left the roadway within the 11200 block of Illinois Route 176, east of Illinois Route 47, in unincorporated Dorr Township. The vehicle left the north side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck multiple trees. The Sheriff's Office is saying alcohol is suspected to be a factor of the crash. Community mourns loss of 19-year-old Jennifer Kearns.
Jennifer Kearns always had a smile on her face. “She was a great girl. You’d never see her without a smile,” said Crystal Sheehan, a family friend who watched the young woman grow up. “Everybody loved to be around her. It made people happy to be near her,” said Sheehan, her voice heavy with sadness. Her sadness reverberated throughout the Huntley community Thursday as family and friends grappled with the 19-year-old’s death in a car accident Wednesday. Kearns was a passenger in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Zachary C. Richardson, 22, of Union, when it went off the roadway on Marengo Road in Coral Township. Kearns and Richardson were ejected from the vehicle. Kearns was pronounced dead at the scene. Richardson was transported to Woodstock …

A 55-year-old Crystal Lake woman was taken to an area hospital this past Monday following a traffic crash. The accident occurred around 2:40 p.m. Monday when the woman drove her car off the road and hit a utility pole at the intersection of Pyott Road and Oak Street, said Sgt. Eric Decker of the Lake in the Hills Police Department. Judith Daily, of 6507 Scott Lane in Crystal Lake, was taken to Sherman Hospital for a chest injury, Decker said. The injury was non-life threatening. A significant amount of damage was done to the vehicle after the front end and then the side of the car collided with the pole, Decker said.
