College students from Algonquin and Lake in the Hills have been recognized for the following academic achievements in recent months: Gianna L. Disarno of Lake in the Hills made the fall 2012 dean's list at Coastal Carolina University. She is pursuing a major in exercise and sport science. Kurt Scheffrahn of Algonquin made the fall 2012 Dean's List at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Stephanie Morgan of Lake in the Hills and Dylan Scully of Algonquin made the fall 2012 Dean's List at Beloit College. Amanda Podczerwinski of Algonquin was named to Siena College's Deans' List for the fall 2012 semester. Podczerwinski is a junior chemistry major at Siena. Area college students graduated and/or have been recognized for the following academic achievements: Biola University in La Mirada, Calif. The following local residents were among 1,371 students named to Biola University's Fall 2011 Dean's List for academic excellence: Kolby Atchison, resident of Algonquin Kristen Dzialo, resident of Lake in the Hills Biola students are placed on the Dean's List to honor those with a grade point average of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in twelve of more credit units and whose cumulative grade point average is at least a 3.2.
