Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent Voting Starts Today

Cast your vote for the fan favorite and help get one contestant into the top 5; parents of Algonquin brothers still in the competition are proud, but not surprised.

If you have a favorite performer amongst the top 10 in Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent, today is the day you can vote for who you think should make it to the top 5. Algonquin Brothers Make Top Ten in Talent Competition

Brothers AJ Lubecker, a comedian, and Shane Lubecker, a yo-yo artist, both of Algonquin, have made it to the top 10 of the Suburban Chicago's Got Talent competition.

He is my older brother so I always want to…

He’s only 17 and he’s already performed at the Apollo Theater in Chicago, Laugh Out Loud Theater in Schaumburg and Duke’s Alehouse in Crystal Lake. For the past few years, Algonquin teenager and comic A.J. Lubecker has been delivering his open-mic stand-up routines at venues that he would not be allowed to enter, had he not been part of the entertainment. “It’s kind of weird because no one else does it,” he said. “And when my friends text me to hang out, sometimes I’m in Chicago late at night.” This summer, Lubecker received a scholarship to attend a two-week improvisation and comedy writing camp at Chicago's premier comedy club, Second City. Meanwhile, he is trying to start his own comedy show at The Thirsty Whale in the Algonquin Commons…
