Algonquin Receives Award for 2010-11 Budget
This years marks the seventh consecutive year the village has been honored in the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Budget Awards Program.
The village of Algonquin recently won an award for its 2010-11 budget from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the seventh consecutive year the village has won the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. On order to receive the award, the village had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
