District 300's Lake in the Hills Elementary School is a successful K-5 school because of its partnership with the community and its pupils' parents and families. It continues to meet state standards in math, reading and writing. The school also stresses its pupils' emotional development through the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support program, which teaches kids respect for themselves, their fellow pupils, teachers and staff and school property. Lake in the Hills Elementary School also has an active Parent Teacher Council that provides assemblies, supplies and special events for the students and their families.
