The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Food Pantry is a non-profit organization which provides food and other goods for hundreds of needy individuals and families throughout the boundaries of Algonquin and Lake in the Hills. Visitors make selections from a supermarket style layout with provided shopping carts. It serves the unemployed and underemployed, individuals with disabilities, the working poor, the homeless, the elderly and children. The organization focuses on increasing awareness of families in need and enhancing community involvement and is operated by representatives from various local churches.
