Tour de Crystal Lake Will Return This Weekend

Tour de Crystal Lake returns with races starting at 8:20 a.m. Sunday and continuing through 6 p.m.

Professional male and female cyclists will race the streets of downtown Crystal Lake this weekend and spectators are welcome to watch the excitement free of charge. 

Tour de Crystal Lake returns with races starting at 8:20 a.m. Sunday and continuing through 6 p.m., according to the Prairie State Cycling Series website.

The race course starts, and finishes, near the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams St. The course runs along Woodstock Street, Minnie Street, Brink Street, Grant Street, Crystal Lake Avenue and Williams Street (a detailed course map can be viewed above). 

The Cottage, at 6 E. Crystal Lake Avenue, will have live music, a beer garden and food and drink specials during the race. Dangerous Joe's Band will perform from 1 to 3 p.m., Jimmy Nick and the Mamas Band will take stage from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Hans and the Hormones Band will play from 6 to 8 p.m. 

The event will also include a family fun expo, a family fun ride that will allow those 3 years and older to bike the course, and Art of the Bicycle event where custom and vintage bicycles will be exhibited.
