Wanted: Volunteers to Help Kick Off the Algonquin Founders' Days Parade
Besides the great feeling that you get from giving back to the community, volunteering looks great on college applications and scholarships.
By the end of this week, the Founders' Days festivities will already have begun. It's my first year attending the festival, and I have been told by numerous people that it is nothing short of amazing. I guess that's why the event is in its 51st year!
But, before everyone gets wrapped up in the excitement of the fireworks, social garden (which is where you will find me) and live bands, I am writing because the committee needs our help.
The organizer of the parade, Alan, needs just a few volunteers to help him get the parade started at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

He said he is willing to provide a letter to volunteers, which is great for high school, college applications and scholarships (trust me on the scholarships one).

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce is also organizing a series volunteer opportunities for the weekend's events.
