Cary Businesses Collecting Supplies for Tornado Relief

The Cary community is collecting donations for victims of the Nov. 17th tornadoes.

Several business people in Cary are working together to collect supplies for victims of the Illinois tornadoes.

Organizers will place "Cary for Tornado Relief" collection boxes at businesses and other locations throughout town. The final push for donations is planned for Sunday, Dec. 1, during the Merry Cary Parade and Festival.

Volunteers marching in the parade plan to collect donations from parade spectators. A truck parked in front of the Metra Station in Cary will serve as an additional donation drop-off site.

The following donations are needed:
Food and water. New socks, underwear, coats, gloves, and scarves for adult and children. Batteries and hand sanitizer. Baby bottles, diapers, formula, blankets, plastic tarps. Dog and cat food. Children's toys and more!

The organizers also will accept monetary donations on that day. The group's goal is to transport the donated supplies by a semi truck to the areas impacted by the tornadoes on Monday, Dec. 2.
