What's Open, Closed on Memorial Day?

In honor of Memorial Day, many offices and agencies are closed.
- All government offices are closed today. This includes the village of Algonquin, village of Lake in the Hills, McHenry County, state of Illinois and federal government.
- District 158, District 155 and District 47 schools all will be closed for Memorial Day. District 300 students had their last day of school on May 23.
- Area police and fire departments will be open on Memorial Day. Contact 911 in the event of a police- or fire-related emergency.
- The Algonquin Public Library District will be closed Sunday, May 27, and Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day. The Huntley Area Public Library will be closed for Memorial Day.
- Banks are closed today. ATMs remain open.
- The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce will be closed on Memorial Day.
- The Post Office is closed today and there is no mail delivery.
- Businesses are operating on their own hours. Please check in advance to see whether they are open.
