Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake
The Lakeside Festival runs June 28 through July 1 at 401 Country Club, Crystal Lake. The festival includes carnival rides, a beer garden, baggo tournament, a kids’ ice-cream-eating contest and children’s bike parade.
A fireworks concert will be held at dusk on July 1 at Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive.
Art on the Fox in Algonquin
The fifth annual Art on the Fox will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1, in Riverfront Park, 101 N. Harrison Road, according to the village of Algonquin press release.
The event is free and open to the public. Artists will perform demonstrations and have artwork for sale in a variety of media, including painting, photography, jewelry, glass, drawing, sculpture, and stone.
Cooking Demonstration at Huntley Farmers Market
Chief Denise Gray will teach you how to make “Awesome and Easy Picnics” at a live cooking demo at the Huntley Farmers Market at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30.
The market is held on Coral Street between Church and Woodstock streets, around Huntley’s Town Square.
Post 1231 American Legion Luau
The American Legion Post 1231 will hold its annual luau this Saturday at 1101 W. Algonquin Road, Lake in the Hills, according to the American Legion.
Food will begin at 6 p.m. and will include pulled pork and chicken breast sandwich dinners, and draft beer and mai tais will be available for purchase. High and Outside will play from 7 to 11 p.m.
There is a $5 cover and the charge is $12 for dinner and the cover.
