New Conservation Area Opening Soon

The Boone Creek Conservation Area is expected to open soon in Bull Valley.

The Boone Creek Conservation Area in Bull Valley will be opening soon. 

There will be a dedication and opening ceremony for the conservation area, which will be located at 916 Cold Springs Road in Bull Valley, on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to noon, according to the McHenry County Conservation District website. The ribbon cutting will be held at 10:15 a.m. 

A brief history of the site will be shared as will details on continued restoration of the site. There will be a self-guided hike along the trail offered afterward, according to the MCCD website. 

The Boone Creek Conservation Area is a 572-acre site, which is meant to protect the valuable natural resources of Boone Creek and its headwater stream system.

The site offers a hiking trail and horseback riding trail, as well as opportunities for picnicking on the observation deck and wildlife watching through viewing scopes.
