Heavy Rain Advisory Issued for All McHenry County Beaches

Due to recent heavy rains, all McHenry County public beaches are on a heavy rain advisory.

The potential for high bacteria — or high E. coli — counts increases with periods of high precipitation.

McHenry County Department of Health recommends refraining from swimming at least 2 to 3 days after a heavy rainfall event due to the potential increase risk of swimming associated illness, such as gastrointestinal illness and ear nose and throat infections, according to a MCDH press release.
