CL Native LePeilbet and U.S. Women's Soccer Team Beat Japan for Gold

U.S. Women's Soccer Team beats Japan 2-1 on Thursday to seize Olympic Gold. Prairie Ridge High School graduate Amy LePeilbet helped the team win the gold.


Nearly one year after falling to Japan in the 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany, the U.S. Women's Soccer team found redemption Thursday, Aug. 9, and defeated Japan 2-1 to capture gold at the Olympics in London, England, according to an article in the Huffington Post.

Representing the U.S.A. on defense was Crystal Lake native Amy LePeilbet, a 2000 graduate of Prairie Ridge High School. LePeilbet now lives in Boston, Mass., according to the U.S. Olympics website.
