Photos: Competition Runs High at the Founders' Bags Tourney

Nearly 30 teams compete for the top prize at the Founders' Days celebration on Saturday, July 30.

More than 50 players on 29 teams put their money where the bags were in a round robin tournament at Algonquin's Founders' Days tournament. Teams competed in a double-elimination tournament; the top three teams won a share of the pot.

The game of bags, which has different names around the country, consists of players attempting to toss bean bags on to a raised platform with a hole cut in the end.

The object of the game is to toss all the bags into the hole or on to the board — making the bag into the hole nets three points, while putting at bag on the board nets one point, and players on opposing teams alternate shots.
