The Jacobs High School tennis team scored a sectional championship this past weekend in Huntley, according to the Illinois High School Association website.
The Jacobs team scored 22 points, winning the sectional over second-place finisher Hampshire High School, which had 17 points. South Elgin High School finished in third place with 16 points and Huntley High School finished in fourth with 14 points.
Jacobs sophomore Ashley Kosy singles match-up and will be headed to state. Also earning a trip to state is Huntley double players senior Tamara Funke and senior Jantzen Rosales who placed first at the sectional.
The state final tournament will be held Oct. 24 through 26 at Buffalo Grove High School.
