Local High School Swimmers Qualify for State Meet

The state final meet will be held this weekend.

Two swimmers on the Jacobs' High School co-op team will head to the state final meet this weekend after each qualifying in two events.  

Jacobs High School senior Josh DeDina qualified in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 59.41 seconds and in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:58.02, according to the Illinois High School Association website. 

Jacobs High School junior Alex Reinbrecht qualified in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.98 and in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:37.47.

Huntley High School senior Matthew Haage will also be heading to the state final meet this weekend. Haage will compete in the 50-yard freestyle after qualifying with a time of 21.90 seconds, according to the IHSA website. 

The state final meet will be held on Feb. 22 and 23 at New Trier High School in Winnetka.
