Crystal Lake South, Central Win NBC 5 Prep Destination

The Chicago TV station will be coming to this Friday's match up between Crystal Lake South and Crystal Lake Central.

NBC 5 will be coming to town after Crystal Lake won the Prep Destination of the Week for the matchup Friday between Crystal Lake South at Crystal Lake Central.

Prep Destination of the Week is a weekly segment of NBC 5 that highlights football games from local high schools. The Chicago TV station will be at the game this Friday and will air highlights during its Sports Sunday segment.

NBC 5 also will be filming its Dance Friday segment. An example of that segment can be found on NBC 5's website.

"NBC 5 News Today" also will announce the winner of this week's Prep Destination Thursday morning, according to information from NBC 5 posted on the CL South website.

NBC 5 offered the following information about its coverage Friday:

“We'll be there LIVE Friday morning to highlight the game and showcase the students and community in a pep rally like atmosphere. Dress up with all your school spirit, bring signs and be ready to cheer loud for all of Chicagoland to hear. It's a great reason to chat about high school football, highlighting the great communities and students, and wishing the kids best of luck in this fall on the gridiron.”

Voting took place today on NBC 5 Prep Destination Facebook page and pitted Crystal Lake South and Crystal Lake Central against Brother Rice at Marist and Glenbrook South at Stevenson.

Voting wrapped up at noon today with Crystal Lake pulling in 7,295 votes, Brother Rice at Marist getting 7,158 votes and Glenbrook South at Stevenson getting 1,751 votes. 

Kickoff for the varsity game at Crystal Lake Central versus Crystal Lake South will be 7:15 p.m. Friday.
