Prepping for Back-to-School in District 300

Looking for information on school start times? Your bus route? How to pay for your student's lunches? Let us help you get prepared for the upcoming school year.

It will soon be back-to-school for students attending District 300 schools. 

The first day of school is Aug. 13 for children in grades kindergarten through 12th grade in District 300.

While it may be good news for parents, there’s a lot to be done to prepare for the new school year. Here is some important information for families to keep in mind as their children head back to school in District 300:

Bell times for local schools: Make sure your kids are on time to the first day of class. Find out the various bell times for schools by visiting the district's website.

Information on transportation/bus routes: You should expect a postcard from District 300 a week before the first day of school regarding bus route information. Any student further than 1 1/4 mile from their school is eligible for bus transportation. The District 300 website has more information on transportation to and from school

Immunizations/health examinations requirements: Make sure your children is up-to-date on all of his/her immunizations and required health examinations before heading back-to-school. New this year, children entering the 6th and 9th grades are required to have a dose of Tdap— diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis—which is meant to combat whooping cough. The complete physical examination paperwork can be found on the District 300 website. 

Free and reduced lunch applications: You can apply for free and reduced lunches on the District 300 website. 

Meal/school-related payments: Are you hoping to get your children set up with school meals this year? You can pay for their lunches and check your balance online. This website also allows you to check other school-related payments, such as AP exam registration, athletic uniforms, field trips, yearbooks and more.
