No Closings Reported Friday; Roads in Better Condition

Winter Storm Nemo left four to six inches of snow in much of McHenry County.

Area roadways should be in much better condition this morning.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is reporting all major highways are clear of ice and snow out in the northwest suburbs with some patches of ice and snow closer to Chicago.

It was a different story last night. Heavy snow dropped up to 9.5 inches in Zion and four to six inches of snow in McHenry County Thursday evening and night creating treacherous driving conditions.
