Huntley High Embraces 'Blended Learning'
A 2011 survey by Babson Survey Research Group found that nearly 23 percent of students in Illinois took blended learning classes, according to the Northwest Herald.
"Blended learning," a combination of online learning with traditional classroom instruction, is taking hold at Huntley High School with 500 of the high school's 2,393 students enrolled in the program this year and 1,300 students expected to enroll next year, according to the Northwest Herald.
The blended learning classes were offered for the first time this year and allow students to complete online assignments while attending 47-minute classes at least two times per week, according to the Northwest Herald.
