Community Unit School District 300 is celebrating its teachers during Educator Appreciation Week May 2 through 5.

District 300 is encouraging students and their families to stop out to the for discounted activities and to show their support for teachers during Educator Appreciation Week.

District 300 provided the following account of the Educator Appreciation Week activities in a press release:

All D300 students, families and staff are invited to have fun celebrating educators during D300 Educator Appreciation Week from 4 to 9 p.m. each day May 2 to 5 at the . D300 certified/instructional staff (LEAD and DESA members, and divisionals) will be admitted for free and receive unlimited bowling and laser tag! Sign-in at the Registration Table upon arrival at the Randall Road Brunswick.  Educators: be sure to bring your D300 ID.

Everyone else (other staff members, family members, students, parents, etc.) pays just $5/each for either one hour of bowling, two rounds of laser tag or an hour of video-game play. You can purchase additional activities for just $5/each activity.  There will also be meal specials each night.

WILL YOUR SCHOOL WIN THE PRIZE?  The school with the highest total turnout (percentage of all staff and students) over the four nights (May 2-5) will receive a very special prize. The prize will be determined by the needs of the winning school.

When arriving at the Randall Road Brunswick Zone, attendees will receive slips to fill out and drop in the box for their school. The slip will ask the attendee to write his/her name, school, and - if a student - who is one of his/her favorite teachers and why. The students' comments about their favorite teachers will be shared with the entire community in May. (Student names will not be published.)
