LITH Patch's ongoing coverage of the proposed $8.3 million in cuts to the district's 2011-2012 budget.

District 300 will be holding a work session this evening where the school board and administrators will discuss $8.5 million in proposed cuts.

The work session will be held at 6 p.m. in the Professional Development Center at Westfield Community School, 2100 Sleepy Hollow Road in Algonquin. The north entrance of the school at door #5 is the best way to get to the PDC, according to an e-mail from District 300 spokeswoman Alliston Strupeck.

The public is welcome to attend, but the primary purpose of his meeting is for board members and administration to discuss in detail the proposed cuts, according to Strupeck's e-mail.
