District 300 Proposes Property Tax Levy Increase

District 300 administrators say a 1.7 percent increase in the property tax levy is needed to keep up with inflation, according to the Northwest Herald.

The $173.19 million levy, if approved, would mean the average homeowner would pay about $26 more, according to the Northwest Herald.

The Daily Herald reports this figure is just an estimate and the district will have a better idea of what the levy will be once they receive the valuation of the district's property from county clerks in April, according to the Daily Herald.

A public hearing on the proposed levy will be held on Dec. 19, according to the Daily Herald.
