District 300 Proposes Budget With Surplus as Contract Negotiations Continue

At this point, a $1.07 million surplus is projected.

The district's new chief financial officer Susan Harkins presented a tentative budget for 2012 with a $1.07 million surplus, according to a Northwest Herald article. 

She said that budget is likely to change as contract negotiations continue with District 300 teachers, according to the article.

Slimey move by D300. "Well, we'd have a budget surplus if you're cool with 40 kids n a classroom and we freeze the teachers pay-Again. Butttt, as admin, we'll continue to give ourselves raises like we're frigg'n Rockefellers." Translation: ya don't have a frigg'n surplus! Nice try.

The class sizes are ridiculous. I have never seen so many kids squeezed into a classroom. The bus service needs some serious attention.
