District 300 Approves New Math Course for Seniors

The fourth-year math course will be introduced during the 2013-2014 school year, according to the Daily Herald.

District 300 will be the first out of the four Elgin Community College feeder high school districts to offer a new fourth-year math class designed for seniors looking to take something other than Calculus in their final year before college, according to a Daily Herald article.

Representatives from ECC, a professor from Northern Illinois University and representatives from districts 300, 303, 301 and U-46 worked together for two years to create a new textbook for the class, according to the article.

That textbook was approved by the District 300 Board of Education this past week and the new class will be offered at all District 300 high schools in the 2013-14 school year, according to the Daily Herald.
