Clipboards for Christian

Students at Dundee-Crown are finding meaningful ways to honor their former classmate and president of the junior class, Christian Stilwell.

Dundee-Crown students today, and in the days to come, can be found carrying around clipboards to honor their former classmate Christian Stilwell, who last Friday.

“It was one of the things he was notorious for,” said Brian Conant, publicity liaison for Dundee-Crown High School. “He used a clipboard for keeping track of his initiatives and his goals.”

“Clipboards for Christian” is one of two things the students are doing to memorialize Stilwell. They are also designing and selling t-shirts for students to wear to remember all of .

The proceeds from the t-shirts and clipboards will go to the scholarship that is being formed in Christian’s name.

The school will not hold a formal memorial service, but Conant said the school is grateful that Christian’s family planned his memorial service in a way so that students and teachers could attend.

Christian’s cause of death is still undetermined. McHenry County Deputy Coroner Kim Bostic said further studies are still needed. She said there was no indication of trauma, drugs or suicide.

Visitation and memorial service will be from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20 in the lakeside auditorium at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E. Algonquin Road, South Barrington. The memorial service will start at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established in honor of Christian. Details to follow.
