Kolby Atchison, of Algonquin, Makes Biola Dean's List

LA MIRADA, Cal. Nov. 12, 2013. In October, Kolby Atchison was named to Biola University's Dean's List for academic excellence.

Kolby Atchison, from Algonquin, was one of 1,422 students named to the Dean's List for Spring 2013.

Ashley Patek , of Algonquin, Helps Lewis University Mediation Team Win 3rd and 4th Place at National Competition

ROMEOVILLE, Nov. 7, 2013. For the fifth time in six years, the Lewis University Mediation team performed exceptional at the national championship competition.

The team of Matt Vasquez, Shannon Lukowski and Ashley Patek finished third and the team of Jake Garringer, Lexi Austring and Olivia Estrada finished fourth.

Patek is a sophomore at Lewis University and is studying Paralegal Studies.

Robert Volpendesta Admitted to Carleton College

NORTHFIELD, Minn., Oct. 21, 2013. Robert Volpendesta, of Algonquin, has been admitted to Carleton College as a member of the Class of 2017. He is the son of Daniel Volpendesta and Geralyn Volpendesta. Volpendesta is a graduate of Huntley High School.

Rianna Hansen, of Algonquin, Joins Chi Omega at University of Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. Sept. 26, 2013. Rianna Hansen, of Algonquin, has become a new member of Chi Omega at the University of Evansville.

Hansen, who is majoring in marketing, joined Chi Omega after a weeklong recruitment process that allowed potential new members to learn about Greek life and discover what each chapter has to offer. Hansen is one of 170 students who joined fraternities and sororities at the conclusion of Fall 2013 recruitment.

Timothy Regan, of Algonquin, Selected to U. of W-Whitewater Football Team

WHITEWATER, Wis., Sept. 25, 2013. Timothy Regan, a freshman sociology major from Algonquin, made the 2013 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team.

With an experienced defensive line and talented offensive line, the UW-Whitewater Warhawks will look to continue their current winning streak.

Natalie Smith, of Algonquin, Participates in Butler University's Ambassadors of Change Program

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Sept. 19, 2013. Natalie Smith of Algonquin, participated in Butler University's Ambassadors of Change (AOC) program Aug. 19-24, 2013. This pre-orientation program for first-year Butler students focuses on service to the community and leadership skill development. 

Alexandra Davidson Graduates from Marquette University

MILWAUKEE, Wis., Sept. 25, 2013.  Alexandra Davidson, of Algonquin, has graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee. Davidson earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Middle Education.
