Survey to Explore Recreational Opportunities on Fox River

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency has awarded a grant to Algonquin and Carpentersville, which will include its services in completing a survey that will look at ways to "enhance recreational opportunities along the Fox River" in both communities, according to the Daily Herald.

The river access and corridor study could include observations on what boat launches should be improved or if kayaking or canoe classes should be offered, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports the agency's services will be offered free of cost and are valued at $70,000.
