State Funds Awarded for Park-and-Ride Lot in Lake in the Hills

State funds pave the way for construction of the new commuter parking lot.

Governor Pat Quinn on Thursday announced $14.6 million worth of capital improvements, one of which is the Park-and-Ride commuter lot for Lake in the Hills, First Electric Newspaper reports

A $579,717 contract was awarded to lowest bidder Berg Excavating Contractors, of Wauconda, to build the commuter lot at Virginia Road and Route 31, according to FEN.

The Illinois Department of Transportation will oversee the project construction. Once completed, it will award drivers wanting to carpool about 110 spaces.
