Snow Clean-Up Continuing for LITH

The public works department has been working throughout this week, and over the past weekend, to keep up with snow removal.

Some streets may seem a little narrower in areas than usual these days.

Following a massive snowfall earlier this month, many municipalities throughout the region continue to work to clear the streets of snow. Lake in the Hill’s public works department worked throughout this week and last weekend on the village’s clean-up efforts, according to a recent LITH newsletter.

The village is asking for residents help in:

  • Clearing their sidewalks so residents are not forced to walk on the street.
  • Clearing snow from around fire hydrants to help firefighters in case of an emergency.

The village would also like to remind residents that while the public works department handles most of the snow removal for streets in LITH, there are still areas that are handled by the state, county and by LITH developers:

  • County crews are responsible for Algonquin Road, Lakewood Road, Randall Road and Ackman Road.
  • The Illinois Department of Transportation is responsible for Route 31 and Route 47
  • Boulder Ridge developers clear snow in this subdivision. For questions about a street in that area, call 847-428-1000
  • Cheswick Place is responsible for its own snow removal. For any questions on that area, call 224-569-3804.
  • If you have any questions or concerns about any other road, contact the village at 847-960-7500.
