Portion of Prairie Trail Closes in Algonquin

The trail will be closed starting immediately through May 1.

A section of the Prairie Trail in Algonquin will be closed starting immediately through May 1 due to a bridge replacement project and continued work being done to the Western Bypass, according to a McHenry County Conservation District press release.

"The section between Main Street in Algonquin to just south of the connecting trail from a subdivision off Pyott Road" will be closed during the work and no thru traffic will be allowed, according to the press release.

The Meyer Road parking lot in Algonquin both northbound and southbound along the trail is also closed. Trail users are encouraged to access the trail from downtown Algonquin to go southbound, or in Crystal Lake to go northbound along the 26-mile trail, according to the news release.
