An affordable housing apartment complex called the Villas is being planned for the south side of Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills with construction expected to start in spring on the 60-unit development, according to the Northwest Herald.
The $19 million project will consist of eight two-story buildings and will also include pedestrian paths, exercise area, playground and basketball court, according to the article.
The Northwest Herald reports the units will be available to those who make "60 percent of the median income in the area" with one-bedroom apartments expected to cost $700 per month, two-bedroom apartments going for $800 per month and three-bedroom apartments renting for $1,000 a month.
