McHenry County ERC Receives Radiation Training

The training will be held at a national conference in Atlanta.

The Emergency Response Coordinator for the McHenry County Health Department will get further training on preparing for a radiation emergency this upcoming week.

ERC Keri Zaleski will be traveling to a national conference in Atlanta on radiation emergency preparedness and public health, according to a McHenry County Health Department press release.

The conference is titled "Bridging the Gaps: Public Health and Radiation Emergency Preparedness." The goal of the conference is to prepare public health officials for a radiological event or nuclear terrorism incidents.

“The timing is fortuitous – given the current situation in Japan”, said Zaleski in a press release.  “This will allow us to view model programs to enhance planning efforts in McHenry County.”
